Forty-five years against the trends

Lennon's describes itself on Instagram as an “Alternative night club & concerts since 1981”. According to a nightlife directory (April 2026), it opened that year as a tribute to John Lennon and is the oldest club in L'Hospitalet, and it has stuck to authentic, underground sounds rather than chasing whatever is in fashion. That consistency is the reason to go: it is one of the few places around Barcelona where goths, post-punk fans and people who like their music dark have a club of their own, every week.

Two floors, two moods

The venue works on two levels. Upstairs is a pub with plenty of character, good for an early drink in a relaxed setting; Time Out described it as playing all styles of music. Downstairs is the main room, set up for gigs and DJ sessions, and the basement is where Lennon's earned its reputation: Time Out called it a space for “Gothic and dark music in all its forms”. Songkick lists the capacity at around 300, so even a sold-out gig feels close to the stage.

Gigs and club nights

Lennon's mixes concerts by underground and heavy bands with DJ nights and, lately, tardeos. Its website sums up its history as “mixing desks playing music since 1981”, and on 21 October 2026 it listed, for Saturday 24 October, a Spanish music tardeo from 18:00 with 80s, 90s and 2000s hits, followed by a DJ night from 23:59 to 05:00 at €12 without a drink, plus a Depeche Mode classics party on 28 November, from 18:30 to 06:00, with a guest DJ from London. Concert listings show recent gigs such as a metal double bill on 2 October 2026. The calendar changes week to week, so check what is on before you go.

Hours, age and dress

Today Lennon's publishes its hours event by event: the DJ night of 24 October runs from 23:59 to 05:00, which fits the Catalan rule for clubs, and the tardeos start at 18:00. The last general timetable we found is old (Time Out, 2011: Tuesday to Saturday from 7pm to 5am, closed Sundays and Mondays), so use the event listing instead. There is no age rule published by the venue; Catalan law keeps under-16s out of clubs and concert venues except for live shows with their parents, so bring ID. There is no dress code either, though black is clearly the house colour on the darker nights.

Getting there

Avinguda Fabregada is in L'Hospitalet, just across the city boundary, and the club's website gives the options: metro line 1 to Avinguda Carrilet, FGC trains to Sant Josep, and the NitBus night lines N2, N13 and N15 for the way back. Remember the metro runs all night only from Saturday into Sunday, and the NitBus runs every 20 minutes until 6am. If you want to combine a gig with another venue in the area, Sala Salamandra, on Avinguda del Carrilet, uses the same Av. Carrilet stop according to Time Out. Questions about a specific night? Who Lennon's is for

Lennon's is not the place for bottle service or a strict door. It suits people who follow underground bands, goths and post-punk fans, and anyone tired of commercial clubs who wants a basement and music that is not on the radio; the Spanish-music tardeos bring in a different, more nostalgic crowd. If you are staying in Barcelona and want something similar without leaving the city, Upload, inside the Poble Espanyol complex, programmes punk, electronic, garage and rock nights. And if your group is split between alternative and commercial, Sala Salamandra and Malalts de Festa are close by on the L'Hospitalet side.
