VIP Tables at Marula Café
Marula doesn't publish tables or VIP prices; the night happens on the dance floor. If you're coming as a group or want to catch a concert and stay for the club, message us on WhatsApp with the date and we'll tell you what's on.
How to Get to Marula Café
Marula is on Carrer dels Escudellers, a narrow street of the Gòtic off La Rambla. Walk up La Rambla to Plaça de Catalunya for the NitBus, or take the metro on Saturday nights, when it runs all night.
Dress Code & Entry Requirements
Marula doesn't publish a dress code or minimum age. Come as you are, but bring ID.
Concerts, jams and DJs, every day
Marula Café's bio reads like a schedule: live music venue and dance club, funk, soul, afrobeat, R&B, Latin and world music, concerts, jam sessions and DJ club, open every day. The October 2026 programme on its website shows how a typical week works. Early in the evening there is a jam session or a concert: a World Groove Session on Wednesday 21 October, the Hit Me Funk! jam on Thursday, a paid concert on Friday and an Afro Latin Jam All Stars on Sunday 25. Later the room turns into Marula Club, with a different DJ every night, from vinyl-only sessions to guests from Brazil. Time Out lists Marula among the best clubs in Barcelona and says no other club plays with old-school music like this one, from garage and afrobeat to jazz, funk, soul, disco and boogaloo. If you like dancing to records more than to the charts, this is your place.
Free entry, tickets and the anniversary
Marula is one of the cheaper nights out in the old town, because a lot of its programme starts free. The Thursday Hit Me Funk! jam at 22:30 had free entry from 22:30 to 23:00, a special DJ session on Sunday 11 October 2026 was free until 01:00, and the 17th anniversary concert by Los Fulanos on Saturday 24 October 2026 was free until the room was full, followed by the Marula DJs from midnight. Some concerts are paid, with tickets sold through the ticket seller the venue works with, and the website doesn't publish a general door price for the club or any tables. We don't sell Marula tickets from a shop of our own: if you want to combine a concert with the club, or you're coming as a group, message us on WhatsApp with the date and we'll tell you what's on and whether it's free.
Getting there and what to expect
Marula is at Carrer dels Escudellers 49, a narrow street of the Gòtic off La Rambla, close to Plaça Reial, Jamboree and Colors. The quickest way home after midnight is to walk up La Rambla to Plaça de Catalunya, where most NitBus lines stop every 20 minutes until 06:00; on Saturday nights the metro runs all night, and on Fridays it closes at 02:00. Marula doesn't publish a dress code or a minimum age, and its bio puts the music first, not the door. Catalan rules keep under-16s out of clubs except for live shows with a parent or guardian, so bring ID if you plan to stay for the club. Escudellers is busy and narrow at night: keep your phone in a front pocket.
