What Sala Apolo Is Like: Gigs, Club Nights and Nitsa on the Paral·lel
· Updated:
Sala Apolo is a live music venue and nightclub at Carrer Nou de la Rambla 113, on the Paral·lel in Barcelona, Spain: concerts in the evening, then a club night after midnight on most days of the week, with a different style each night. Club sessions are 18+, and at weekends the electronic party is Nitsa.

The building and the rooms
Apolo's building on the Paral·lel, in Poble-sec, opened in 1935 as an indoor amusement park, became a dance hall in 1943 and reopened as a concert hall and club in 1991, as The New Barcelona Post told in July 2026; its website calls it the oldest club venue in Spain (“la sala discoteca más antigua de España”). Its Instagram bio is just three words, “Club de clubs”, a club of clubs, which is exactly how it works: one building, many parties. There are three spaces: the main Sala Apolo, the smaller La (2), opened in 2006, and La Cinc. Time Out calls it one of the most legendary gig venues in Barcelona and notes that it refuses to stick to one genre, while Resident Advisor highlights its top-tier sound system and dynamic lighting. In autumn 2026 it is also showing off its sound: the venue presents itself as the first concert hall on the Iberian Peninsula with immersive sound, premiered by Mouse on Mars on 5 November.
A different club night almost every day
| Night | Music (Time Out, October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Wednesday | Trap, reggaeton, hip-hop, electronic, techno |
| Thursday | Rock, dance, urban |
| Friday and Saturday | Electronic: Nitsa and its guests |
| Sunday | Hits, pop, dance, urban, pachanga |
The names change more than the styles. Apolo's club section lists sessions such as Bresh, Nalgas Club, Milkshake, Oxido, El Dúplex and Churros con chocolate, and it also hosts one-off parties: on Wednesday 21 October 2026, for example, La (2) had Diablada, a cumbia night with Frente Cumbiero. Before the club, the same week's concerts went from contemporary R&B from Amman to rap and French indie. The trick is to check the night, not the venue: Wednesday at Apolo and Saturday at Apolo are two different crowds, and on the same night La (2) and the main room can be running two different parties.
Nitsa: the weekend electronic club
On Friday and Saturday from midnight to 6am, the main room belongs to Nitsa, which has been there since the mid-1990s, calls itself “Barcelona's longest-running electronic music club” and has its own following of almost 100,000 on Instagram, while its sister party Astin takes La (2) with a separate ticket. If what you want is house, techno and international DJs, that is your night, and it has its own guide. If you want reggaeton, rock or pop, come midweek or on Sunday.
What Nitsa, Apolo's weekend club, is like →Age, ID and what to expect
Club sessions are sold as 18+, with ID that has a photo. Concerts can allow younger fans: under Catalan law, under-16s can only be in a concert venue for a live show with a parent or guardian. Apolo publishes no dress code, and it asks people to keep it a safe, inclusive space, free of harassment and discrimination. Doors and closing follow each night's ticket, within the general rule for clubs: 5am, or 6am on Fridays, Saturdays and the night before a holiday.
The neighbourhood and getting home
Poble-sec is one of the city's music corners: LAUT is a few metres away on Vila i Vilà, and Sala Plataforma is further along the same street, at number 145. Getting back, the metro runs all night only on Saturday; on Fridays it closes around 2am and on other nights at midnight. The NitBus runs from 10:30pm to 6am every 20 minutes, and almost every line passes through plaça de Catalunya. Ask us on WhatsApp if you want to know which Apolo night fits your group.
