A gig venue first, then a club

Salamandra is one of the venues that keeps live music alive in the Barcelona metropolitan area. Time Out describes it as a concert hall and club that books local bands, where resident and guest DJs take over after the concerts, and notes that it hosts the Let's Festival every year, which it described in 2020 as the most important Spanish indie festival in Catalonia. A nightlife directory (April 2026) calls it one of the concert halls with the most life in the area, with a space of around 500 m². So the night usually works like this: a gig in the evening, then the room turns into a dance floor.

The party nights: CUB, ZOCO and Sundays

  • CUB: reggaeton and perreo nights, according to a nightlife directory (April 2026).
  • ZOCO: nostalgic hits that everyone sings along to, also according to a nightlife directory.
  • Sunday session: salsa, bachata and timba, run by its own Instagram account, which was active on 21 October 2026.

That mix is what makes Salamandra unusual: the same room can host an indie band on Thursday, a perreo night on Friday, a throwback party on Saturday and a dance-in-pairs session on Sunday. Before you go, check what kind of night it is, because the crowd changes completely from one to the next. Salamandra does not have a single Instagram account of its own that we could verify; dates appear on the accounts of each party and on the ticketing pages.

Hours and age

Hours depend on the event: concerts start in the evening and the club sessions run late, and the Sunday session starts earlier. We have no general timetable published by the venue that we can quote, so check the specific event. In Catalonia under-16s cannot enter clubs or concert halls, except for live shows with their parents (Decree 112/2010); for party nights, each event sets its own minimum age, usually 18, so bring ID with a photo. As a general rule, Catalan clubs can stay open until 5am, and until 6am on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before holidays; concert halls close earlier, at 4:30am, or 5am at weekends.

Getting there and getting home

Time Out gives Av. Carrilet, on the FGC line, as the nearest stop. Lennon's Club, L'Hospitalet's veteran alternative club, uses the same stop, so you can combine both on the same night. To get back to Barcelona, remember that the metro runs all night only from Saturday into Sunday; on Fridays the last trains leave around 2am, and the NitBus night buses run every 20 minutes until 6am, with almost all lines passing through Plaça de Catalunya. Thirty years of live music

Salamandra has a long story. According to NacióDigital, in 2016 it was celebrating its twentieth season: it was born as a venue that wanted to be both a concert hall and a club, at a time when the area's clubs were about dress codes, and its programming has always leaned towards indie and mestizaje. The same article lists some milestones: Manu Chao first played there in 2003 under another name and had returned around thirty times by 2016, Estopa played their first concert with a full band there, and Ojos de Brujo had their first gig there opening for Macaco. That history is why people from Barcelona still cross the city boundary for a gig at Salamandra.
