Safari Disco Club Barcelona: YASS!, Bananas and What the Weekend Is Like

Safari Disco Club is an LGBTQ+ weekend club at Carrer de Tarragona 141 in Barcelona, Spain, open on Friday and Saturday nights from 00:30 until 5 or 6am, and best known for YASS!, its Saturday party with pop and hits in one room and house in the other.

Where it is and who runs it

Safari sits on Carrer de Tarragona, a few minutes from Plaça d'Espanya and the Tarragona metro stop, which its own Instagram bio points to. It is outside the usual Gaixample bar strip, which is part of its appeal: you go to Safari for the party, not because you happened to walk past. It is part of Grupo Arena, the same group behind Arena Experience by Urquinaona, according to the group's Instagram bio. The group's bar, Punto BCN, is on Carrer de Muntaner, in the Gaixample.

The parties: YASS!, Bananas, POPair and Tanga

Safari works as a home for named parties rather than as one generic club night. This is how its website described them on 21 October 2026:

• YASS! (Saturdays): an LGBTIQ+ session under the motto “Come as you are”, with a Pop & Hits room and a House room. It has its own Instagram account and lists 24 October and a Halloween edition on 31 October.
• Bananas Gay Party (some Fridays): current hits, remixes and reggaeton across the club's two rooms, from 0:30 to 6am. The website says it draws an average of around 1,000 people each weekend. Dates listed: 23 October, 6, 20 and 27 November, and 11 December.
• POPair (other Fridays): a party for bears and their admirers, with a theme for each edition and “hitazos, pop and electronic” music. Dates listed: 30 October (Halloween), 13 November, 4 and 18 December.
• Tanga: an occasional party, announced on social media.

In short: if you want pop, divas and a big Saturday crowd, YASS! is the one. If you prefer a Friday, check which party is on that week, because the music and the crowd change quite a bit between Bananas and POPair.

Dress code and age

There is no strict dress code published. YASS! literally asks you to come as you are, and the themed Fridays reward people who play along with the theme, Halloween included. The website does not publish a minimum age. In Catalonia under-16s cannot enter clubs (Decree 112/2010), and above that each venue sets its own rule, so bring ID with a photo and assume an adult crowd.

Getting there and getting home

The nearest metro is Tarragona on L3, and Plaça d'Espanya is a short walk. On Saturday nights, which is when YASS! is on, the metro runs all night into Sunday, so getting home after closing is easy. On Fridays the last trains leave around 2am; after that, the NitBus night buses run every 20 minutes until 6am and most lines pass through Plaça de Catalunya.

Safari or Arena?

Both belong to Grupo Arena, but they cover different needs. Arena Experience, by Urquinaona, opens every night of the week from 00:30 and is the easy answer from Monday to Thursday. Safari only opens on Fridays and Saturdays and works as a home for named parties, with Bananas drawing an average of around 1,000 people a weekend, according to its website.
